Quilting and Stitching Friends,

I’m sorry it has taken me so long to get this newsletter compiled. I had a pretty hectic summer and fall and just couldn’t get it done. About the time I thought I could, Christmas was upon us, so that was the end of that. I decided to wait until after the first of the year before even trying to write this. Unfortunately then came inventory, our January sale and Super Bowl Sunday, still with no newsletter. Now it’s really happening.

The first thing I would like to do is thank all of you for your patronage and friendship over the last year. 2007 was a very busy and interesting year so I hope that with your help 2008 will be just as good.

As you know we added counted cross stitch, punchneedle and a larger selection of Jack Dempsey designs at the beginning of the year. Also floss, charts, aida, linen and other supplies. I’m very happy that this seems to have been received quite well. I would like to welcome all the cross stitchers and hand embroiders to our little stitching family.

We are in the process of adding a new line of sewing machines to our inventory. Along with Singer we will now be stocking Elna as well. Hopefully they will be in by the time this letter is received. We should be able to help you find the perfect machine for your sewing, quilting and embroidery projects. Keep us in mind when you decide to get that new

“ toy” you have been wanting.

New fabrics are arriving daily. We just received the Hoffman Challenge fabric and all 15 coordinates. This is a very pretty line this time. As we all know that isn’t always so. Come in and take a look.

We will be starting a Mystery Quilt in April. You know you will like the quilt because you pick the fabrics and the pattern is the mystery. We have some suggestions or you may pick your own. Sign up must be completed by the end of March. The pattern will be available for pick up the 3rd Sat of April and every 3rd Sat thereafter. A Table Runner contest will begin in March. Just buy a table-runner pattern and make a runner to display for the month of May, You may be the winner of some great prizes. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded.  Please call, e-mail or come by to get all the info.

In June we will start a fun wall hanging of the month. It is a 10 month program. You may sign up for all 10 months at once or pick and choose which months you want. A sweatshirt of the month will begin in Aug. This is an 8 month program and works like the wall hanging.

“Here Comes Santa” is a great redwork quilt block of the month that begins in May. Sign-up by the April 15.

Julie from “Patchabilities” is working on a new mini of the month. These are patterns that can only be acquired through this program. We did these last year and found them to be a lot of fun. I was just wondering how many of you would be interested in doing them again or who missed out last year and would now like to do them.

Upcoming classes include “Straight to the Point”, “4 Corner Apron”, Mini Paper Piece, Beginning Quilting, Machine Quilting and more. Visit our web page to see all the pictures and pertinent information. As always if the class schedule doesn’t fit into your busy schedule just let us know and we will make every effort to find a time that suits both of us.

For those of you interested in counted cross stitch we will be offering a couple of classes, one for the beginner and one for the stitcher who would like to stitch on linen or would like to learn to.
